SETC Goes to School

Congratulation for SDN 11 Pajintan, Singkawang Timur.

            Saturday, April 20, 2013, we would teach English by songs, videos, and games for primary students. Congratulation for SDN 11 Pajintan, Singkawang Timur which was chosen as our first visiting because the location is near from our centre. LOL :D

            There were three classes participated for this classroom activities. They were the 1^st, 5^th, and 6^th grade. We gave snacks for all the participants and for the winner got a yellow star and double snacks!!! That was just for fun. Do you wanna see more fun? Let's take a look to the following snapshots!!!

The 1^st grade was taught by Marcella Amuy, Septian, Yuliana, Leonardo and I (Herni Fitriana).

Congratulation for Putri as the winner, you were awesome can memorize faster and sing well.  

The 5^th grade played a bingo game about fruit vocabularies. Azalia, Abang M. Rizkan, Sinta, Gatri, Lisa, Riskiyah and Kisnawati were in charge of the activities.

The 6^th grade was handled by Ryan, Septivani, Asridayanti, and Veni.

This was a watching section about English video. There was also a game related to the video.

At the end of activities, we took a snap with the friendly headmaster.

            Overall were successful. Zippy!!! Once again the amazing thing we get. The effect from this visiting for the primary students and us. See it to the next posting !!!

Welcome to Sinka Education Training Centre (SETC)

I was very lucky be chosen as a special student to study intensively here for 1 semester.  There are only 17 students from English major in STKIP PGRI Pontianak (my college).

Why is it only English major?

Because this is a new program from English major named “Acceleration Program”. This is the first year the program runs. The program referred to students from semester 4 and will be send in Sinka Education Training Centre (SETC) in Singkawang city for 1 semester or about 5 months to study more intensive. After that, the students will be sent back to the campus, STKIP PGRI Pontianak, to continue their study in semester 5 of course with more ability in English. Like a cycle the new chosen students in Semester 4 will do the same.

The implementation:

                We just move from Pontianak to Singkawang. No change in subjects that we get in semester 4, just some addition activities to improve our English and practice our skill to the society. This is a place to spend more time for studying than hanging out, shopping, or doing nothing. LOL.

There will be a speech from the student during meals.

The books are from overseas such as Australia and Malaysia, available in every classroom.

We are interested in Drama and will be a big event on June 22, 2013.

I will post our events and our activities in Sinka Education Training Centre (SETC). This is my first posting. Sorry, my English is not good enough but I'm getting better.
